Terms of use

Last updated: 3 October 2026. This is a translation of the French version, which prevails in case of discrepancy.

1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the mymemoriesmap.com website and of the Memories Map software, published by Memories Map. Using the website or the software means that you accept these terms.

2. The software

Memories Map is provided free of charge. It processes, on your computer, the data export that the Snapchat app makes available to you, to turn it into dated and named photos and videos, and a map. It is provided "as is", with no guarantee of results: the publisher does not guarantee that it will work without errors with every export.

The software never modifies the ZIP files of your export. Nevertheless, keep a backup of your important data.

3. Your commitments

4. Intellectual property

The texts, images and the Memories Map software are protected. The software includes third-party components and data, each under its own license, provided with the software: FFmpeg (GPL), ExifTool, Leaflet, MapLibre, Protomaps, OpenStreetMap (ODbL), GeoNames (CC BY 4.0), Natural Earth (public domain).

Snapchat is a trademark of Snap Inc. Memories Map is independent software, neither affiliated with nor approved by Snap Inc.

5. Liability

The publisher strives to ensure the accuracy of the information on the website and the proper functioning of the software, without being able to guarantee it. The publisher cannot be held liable for data loss, indirect damage, or the use you make of the files created. External websites mentioned are the responsibility of their publishers.

6. Advertising

The website is funded by advertising, shown in the page margins and on the page displayed after a download, only with your consent to cookies (see the privacy policy). The software shows no advertising.

7. Changes and applicable law

These terms may change; the version in force is the one published on this page. They are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any action; failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction.

8. Contact

For any question: memoriesmap [at] proton.me or the contact page.
